Brick by Brick, the housebuilding company set up by Croydon Council, has been shortlisted in five separate categories at the Inside Housing Development Awards.

Celebrating the very best residential development across the UK from the past year, the awards showcase projects in 13 different categories.

Brick by Brick has been announced as finalists in the following sections: Best Affordable Housing Development, Best Regeneration Project (London), Best Development Team, Best Architectural Design and Best Shared Ownership Development.

The winners will be revealed on Thursday, November 23.

This follows hot on the heels of Brick by Brick’s recent win at the prestigious New London Architecture awards where their housing proposals for smaller sites throughout Croydon were deemed to be the very best that London has to offer.

Set up to ensure people in Croydon have access to high quality and affordable housing, Brick by Brick is set to deliver more than 1,000 new homes on sites throughout Croydon by 2019. Around 50 per cent of the properties consented thus far will be affordable homes, with the remainder being private homes for sale.

Councillor Alison Butler, cabinet member for homes, regeneration and planning, said: “It is fantastic news that Brick by Brick has been shortlisted for these awards. Our ambition has been to help address the housing crisis with high quality, well designed homes that will give Croydon people access to affordable homes of their own and it is great that this is being recognised within the industry.”

Managing director and CEO of Brick by Brick, Colm Lacey, said: “I am delighted that our work has been recognised in this way. Our ultimate aim is to create properly designed, affordable housing in Croydon which will stand the test of time. It is great to have this commendation of our progress to date.”
