As Croydon is transformed, the Morello quarter represents a new benchmark in town centre regeneration.
Built on one of Croydon’s best known streets, Cherry Orchard Road, the mixed used development is a joint project between Menta and Redrow, featuring a 54-story residential tower, a hotel, 6000 sq m of Grade A offices, retail and community space plus significant enhancements to the surrounding public realm and train station.
It includes the Morello tower – a landmark 55-storey residential tower. The tower creates a ‘vertical street’ with 424 new homes ranging from sudios to three bedroom apartments with spectacular views towards London and the South downs. On the lower floors there will b e shops and restaurants which will serve the local residents of Addiscombe, and those moving through the scheme to access the new station development.
Adjacent to the apartment building is a 17‐storey, four star hotel, providing 165 suites plus business and retail space. The two remaining buildings contain Grade A start‐up office accommodation, mixed tenure affordable housing and a community centre.
In the heart of Croydon’s regenerated town centre, the development will be within easy reach of the forthcoming Westfield/Hammerson shopping ideally situated to make the most of the new Croydon.
With substantial public realm improvements to both the surrounding area and East Croydon station, the Morello quarter represents a total investment of £250m in the borough.
