Ruskin Square Car Park wins RICS infrastructure award

Ruskin Square MSCP has landed a prestigious industry award.

The car park, on Dingwall Road, was the winner of the infrastructure category for all London projects at the RICS Regional Awards.

The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure.

In eight categories a total of 95 projects were entered, out of which 54 were shortlisted. Ruskin Square MSCP beat off a high level of competition in its category, including the £4.2 billion Thames Tideway Tunnel project, and the Crossrail Pudding Mill Lane DLR station.

The Ruskin Square MSCP, a 2,468 square metre, 1960s concrete frame building forms a major component of the Opportunity Area Planning Framework adjacent to East Croydon main railway station.

It now provides a first-class multi-storey car park, fully refurbished and repaired for the public as part of the wider Ruskin Square development, the first phase of which has been developed by Croydon Gateway Ltd Partnership: a joint venture partnership between Stanhope plc and the Schroders Real Estate Fund.

This project was delivered by AECOM, Potter Church & Holmes Architects and Lendlease.

Ruskin Square MSCP will now compete against other regional winners at the RICS Awards 2018 Grand Final on 2 November at The Brewery.
