A launch party for Croydon’s biggest and best business event takes place on Tuesday, April 25.
The View, the Develop Croydon marketing suite in the Whitgift Tower, will be hosting a free Big Game evening to promote the Croydon Business Excellence Awards 2017, being held in association with Gatwick Airport.
Business people across the borough are invited to the spectacular ninth floor venue from 6pm to 8pm to learn about the innovative awards, enjoy free drinks and snacks, and test their competitive Big Game skills.
Croydon’s most prestigious and successful event has been given a makeover with new categories, including an exciting new Culture Award and a new Women in Business Award sponsored by Superdrug.
An all-new Local Business Award, featuring a parallel Shop Local competition, will be launched to reward firms in each of Croydon’s six main districts.
Another innovative element for this year is the appointment of Business Awards Ambassadors, who will advise and encourage businesses throughout the awards entry process.
“The 2017 Awards promise to be the best ever with new exciting new features aimed at helping Croydon’s booming business community share and celebrate their successes and achievements,” said Katharine Glass, managing director of organisers White Label.
“We hope as many business people as possible join us at the launch party in The View for a brilliant evening of fun, refreshments and networking.”

Alison Addy, head of community engagement at Gatwick said: “We are delighted to be headline sponsors again this year and look forward to celebrating the best of business in Croydon.
“With Gatwick Airport so accessible to Croydon it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to build links with the Croydon business community.”
The awards are free to enter, with easy-to-follow online registration. The two-stage judging process is robust and impartial, with shortlisted companies invited to a coaching workshop prior to the final Judging Day in May.
The winners will be announced, along with the overall Business of the Year, at a glittering black-tie Gala Dinner and Charity Ball in the ultra-luxurious Grand Sapphire on Thursday, October 5.
As well as Gatwick Airport, the 2017 awards are supported by: London Borough of Croydon, Allianz Global Assistance, Wing Yip, Chequers Cleaning Contract Services, Superdrug, Mobile Bar Hire, Croydon Chamber, Croydon Advertiser, Handelsbanken and Grand Sapphire.
Hewitts of Croydon were crowned Business of the Year at the 2016 awards which were hosted by broadcaster and journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer at the Grand Sapphire.
