Croydon College has more than 8000 students and is one of the largest and most successful providers of further and higher education courses in the south east.
Plans are afoot for a brand new college building in the coming years as part of the massive regeneration of Croydon town centre. The college incorporates University Centre Croydon which a relatively new institution. Most of its courses are validated by the University of Sussex and significant investment and refurbishment at the College Road education campus has provided impressive resources for its students.
Croydon School of Art which is on the same site counts pop star David Bowie, Sex Pistols’ Malcolm McLaren and Turner Prize nominees Helen Chadwick and Sean Scully among its alumni.
Other Colleges include John Ruskin College, a small, supportive, highly successful, sixth form college situated in South Croydon which offers a wide range of vocational courses and Coulsdon Sixth Form College, which offers a range of courses in Visual and Performing Arts, Business, Travel and Sport, Science, IT and Mathematics, Humanities, Languages and Media.
