The Morello Quarter Phase II development is ready to start on site this year, subject to receiving planning consent, and would deliver a further 445 new homes to Croydon.
The major residential-led regeneration scheme follows the completion of the first phase last year, which included 297 1/2/3 bedroom apartments plus secure basement parking for 118 cars, enabling the delivery of the surrounding high-quality public realm.
The planning applications for the infrastructure-led second phase – Morello North & South Towers and Cherry Orchard Gardens – have been submitted and are expected to be heard at Committee at the end of March.
The station facing development, featuring two 25-storey towers plus a building of five to nine storeys, would provide 445 1/2/3 bedroom apartments, around 19,000 sq ft of station linked retail and amenity space and also complete the public East Croydon bridge link that will connect central Croydon, the transport links and the Addiscombe community.
Craig Marks, chief executive of Menta, said: “Menta Redrow are very committed to the early delivery of affordable homes on Cherry Orchard Gardens with an offer that vastly exceeds the amount of affordable homes on previous schemes alongside great amenity and infrastructure delivery and contributions to Network Rail”
