The fifth major collaboration between HUB and social impact investor Bridges Fund Management, the scheme will deliver 513 homes and the revitalisation of a well-loved park.
A world-class design team will help deliver HUB’s vision of aesthetic, functional and low-impact homes at Queen’s Quarter. Stirling Prize-winning architects AHMM have been invited to draw up new plans for the scheme, and work on site started in May 2018.
The development will include housing for sale and rent, as well as 13,000 sq. ft of retail and commercial space. The scheme will also include the regeneration of a popular local park, The Queen’s Gardens, further contributing to this new chapter for Queen’s Quarter and Croydon.
One block, comprised of 90 homes, will be owned by Croydon Council, providing affordable homes at council rents for families on the borough’s housing waiting list.
Upon completion in 2021, Legal & General will take ownership of the second block, a 35-storey building with 251 one, two and three-bedroom apartments for sale. This will also have a rooftop garden, communal facilities on the ground and first floors and a ground-floor commercial unit.
L&Q will take the remaining two blocks with 84 and 88 units respectively as a mix of shared ownership and London Living Rent apartments.
